To the darling souls that come across this blog, I hope you find comfort in my words.
This blog is dedicated to all of my fellow chronic-overthinkers, the ones that lie awake recreating every conversation and interaction into the depths of the cold winter nights. You are not alone. I hope to fill this blog with my own journey to understanding the value of finding comfort within the home of my own body. May we stop recreating scenarios of past conversations and allow ourselves to only recreate thoughts that exude acceptance, strength, and vulnerability. May we stop questioning how we reacted or spoke and start admiring ourselves for continually trying to meet new people, for saying yes to new adventures, and for opening up in a world that has taught us to be ashamed of our feelings.

While we were created to learn and reflect from past situations, to recreate memories, we were not created to dwell in the past. In a world that is filled with hateful messages and competition, you need yourself more than ever. What do I mean by that? You need to be cheering yourself on. Whether it is when you wake up and see yourself in the mirror, zits and all, or when you feel like you’re in a standstill job, you need yourself.
Recreating your thoughts isn’t simple, some thoughts are more intrusive than others and have been discussed to lengths end with our closest friends and/or therapists. Some negative thoughts that have leeched on to our thoughts for so long, they feel like they are a part of us. But, if we are what we eat, we most certainly are what we think. We must change the way we think about ourselves, even our shortcomings. No more calling yourself stupid for forgetting to pack a lunch or lazy for skipping a day at the gym. The rhetoric you use to describe yourself when you are alone with your thoughts will start to manifest from your head to your future. Your future deserves a chance, you deserve a chance. The best version of yourself starts here, with your thoughts.
